Embark on an artistic adventure with me as I unveil the extraordinary potential of slate in my creations. Having grown up amongst the fascinating landscape of Pembrokeshire, I take inspiration from the rolling hills, open countryside and rugged coastline. The moment I discovered the rugged offcuts of Welsh purple slate, I knew I had stumbled upon something special – a treasure trove of an untapped canvas.

At Solva, we sit and watch the world go by, soaking in the calmness of the bobbing boats and the serenity of paddle boarders gliding among them. I often catch the boys watching older teenagers jumping into the water from the edge of the harbour. In those moments, I know exactly whose hand to hold tightly; my adventurous middle child!

Welsh folk songs and lullabies hold a deep, personal significance for me, woven into the fabric of my childhood by my mother's voice, now echoed in the songs I sing to my own children. These melodies are more than just music; they are a cherished part of our heritage, carrying the stories and emotions of our culture. The poetic imagery in their lyrics sparks vivid visions in my mind, serving as a continuous source of inspiration for my artwork, where I strive to capture the timeless beauty and spirit of these traditions.
